GEORGIA RADIO - Mark your calendars, folks! On January 25th, 2025, the heart of Garfield will beat a little louder as the inaugural Georgia Folk & Farm Life / GeorgiaRadio.com Storytelling Festival takes center stage at New Beginnings In Christ from 2:00 to 4:30 p.m. ET. This event promises an afternoon brimming with tall tales, hearty laughs, and toe-tapping tunes, headlined by none other than the "Oracle of the South," Wade Peebles.
Wade, affectionately known as Uncle Wade to his legions of fans, is Georgia’s most beloved log truck driver and a storyteller extraordinaire. With over a million miles of road beneath his wheels, Wade has seen it all, and his gift for weaving those experiences into captivating yarns has made him a household name. His Facebook group, Georgia Folk & Farm Life, boasts a whopping 94,000 members, drawing readers and contributors from all walks of life. The group’s popularity rivals some of the largest newspapers in the South, and it’s easy to see why—there’s no better place for a slice of Southern life served with a side of wit and wisdom.
Bringing his signature warmth and charm to the event, Georgia Radio’s own Matt Jolley will moderate the festivities. A natural storyteller himself, Matt will guide the event with his warm charm and sharp humor. Not only that, but he’ll also produce two one-hour broadcast specials from the festival, set to air later this year on GeorgiaRadio.com.
If you’ve ever wanted to share your own story or showcase your musical talents, this is your chance. Folks are encouraged to email Matt at matt@georgiaradio.com to snag a spot on stage. Whether you’ve got a tale to tell or a song to sing, this festival is about celebrating the voices that make Georgia a true tapestry of culture and tradition.
So grab your friends, bring your best story, and join the fun. Garfield may be a small town, but on January 25th, it’ll be the epicenter of Southern storytelling. Don’t miss out on the chance to be part of this historic inaugural event!
